Inaugural Pilgrim Paddle Success!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Stand Up Fitness’ Inaugural Pilgrim Paddle on Saturday, November 28th. Tampa Bay usually brings calm tranquil waters, ideal for conditions for a morning paddle and just what you want on race day. Saturday’s temperatures huddled around 56 degrees with 10-15mph winds and a light chop. Not exactly what we had in mind for this 2 person relay race, but we had a great crowd and some very excited paddlers. The Pilgrim Paddle proved that cold temperatures and brisk winds have nothing on a true race enthusiast.

The morning relay began with our Co-Ed Division and followed up with the Men and Women’s Divisions. We had about 34 paddlers compete, some in more than one division. We handed out hot coffee, warm donuts, great trophies and some awesome prizes – all in all a successful event!

Stand Up Fitness Leads Ironman World Championship Swim

Stand Up Fitness was honored to lead the swim portion of the Ironman World Championship 70.3 on Saturday morning. Race organizers said more than 10,000 people turned out to watch the Ironman 70.3 series season-ending event, which drew more than 1,500 competitors from 57 countries.

Beach Clean Up & Paddle

Thanks to all who came out on Saturday to help keep our beaches clean! Stand Up Fitness provided the boards as paddlers took to the water cleaning up trash along the shore and beaches of Tampa Bay, focusing on Spa Beach, where our Inaugural Pilgrim Paddle will take place on the 28th. This was our first Beach Clean Up & Paddle and we hope to do many more in the future!
